Vicky's View

After going up the road and along a short forest path, Vickey’s View is a viewpoint overlooking the upper Arrow Lake, Monashee mountains, and the town of Nakusp.

Trail Description

This is a favorite quick, invigorating hike to a spot where locals like to look down and identify their house below, or snowshoe up to celebrate Christmas Day. A picnic table and rustic bench make it a perfect spot for lunch.

The trail up the mountainside is actually an old fire road now used to access this spectacular viewpoint. The 4-kilometre road, with its narrow, rutted gravel surface, is passable on a dirt bike or 4-wheeler. Those who prefer walking can ascend the mountain in the quiet solitude afforded by the mainly second-growth trees lining the roadway. After parking, walk along the road, which turns sharply to wind up the mountain after about 600 metres. Roughly 0.8 kms from the first switchback, there is a small white sign on the left-hand side of the road noting the viewpoint, Vicky’s View
