Bringing the railway back to Nakusp - The Nakusp Rail Society was formally incorporated on June 24, 2016 and works on the history of the Nakusp & Slocan Railway. They are the stewards of the 1921 snowplough, 1913 Jordon spreader and 1977 caboose all sister units to what originally worked in Nakusp. Free tours are available. The units can also be booked for parties! The units are located across from the public beach and near the original rail line.

It is the office for the Nakusp & District Chamber of Commerce, offering business services such as printing, copying, faxing, laminating (letter), coil binding, heavy-duty staplers, and long-reach staplers—covering all of your basic needs.

We offer paddleboard and kayak rentals from our Marina Office at the Prestige Lakeside Resort. Paddle right from our office. We have everything you need.

Based in Nakusp, O’Brien’s Towing has been serving the Kootenays since 2001.
We offer 24 hr towing, recovery & roadside assistance services, including battery boosting, fuel delivery, unlocking services, tire change, and air up, recoveries and vehicle transport.

Along the placid shores of the West Kootenays’ Upper Arrow Lake, lays the rural village of Nakusp. Every week, the old Nakusp Firehall inspires, nourishes and supports the community by hosting Nakusp’s 50 Mile Year Round Market.

This market focuses on local – very local. In order to support the truly remote food producers and artisans in the area, all vendors are within a 50-mile radius of Nakusp. On offer, everything from fresh produce and apple cider, to handcrafted birdhouses and original works of art – and on market days, hot meals from the repurposed community kitchen.
