Also check out Summit Lake, just 12 km east of Nakusp for some good fly fishing as well as nice family picnic areas. Check on special Restrictions for Summit Lake. | | An example of a smaller, remote lake is Kimbol Lake where, after a hardy 7 km hike you might not find the whoppers you are dreaming of, but you'll be sure to catch some very tasty panfry trout. The trail to this lake starts at the Nakusp Hot Springs, and a trail brochure is available for downloading here. |

| The Kuskanax River at Nakusp has some small trout in it and has been fly fished in several spots. Many other creeks and rivers offer excellent fly fishing, subject to restrictions. Please be sure to pick up the fishing regulations and be aware of closures. Please be careful when the Kuskanax River is high, as it is extremely dangerous along the banks. |
